ModCon 2.0 intro

The cross-channel content development approach in eWizard represents a significant evolution in how modular content is created, managed, and reused across different template types. With the introduction of ModCon 2.0, the platform has moved beyond traditional module template-based creation to enable seamless content sharing between emails, e-Detailers, and other templates.

The ModCon 2.0 approach fundamentally transforms how modules are created and shared. Instead of being limited to module templates, modules can now be also created from:

  • email templates

  • e-Detailer templates

  • any template with similar structure and component sets

This flexibility is achieved through a template-agnostic architecture that enables true cross-channel content reuse.

Key concepts

masterTemplateCode: integration key

The cornerstone of ModCon 2.0's cross-template compatibility is the masterTemplateCode property in the cross-channel content settings. This identifier:

  • Acts as a link between different templates.

  • Is located in the template's core settings file.

  • Ensures compatibility when template codes match.

  • Enables successful integration across content item types.

When templates share the same masterTemplateCode value, their components become "friendly" to one another, allowing seamless module exchange and reuse.

For successful cross-channel integration, ensure that templates intended to share modules have matching masterTemplateCode values in their core settings files.

Grid-based structure

ModCon 2.0 introduces a grid-based approach that revolutionizes how content structure is preserved and managed. This architecture enables:

  • Block-to-module conversion: Create new modules directly from content blocks.

  • Structure preservation: Maintain the layout and organization during autofill operations.

  • Flexible editing: Add, modify, and customize existing modules.

  • Seamless republishing: Update modules in Veeva Vault with changes.

The grid-based system ensures that when content is reused, it maintains its intended structure and behavior across different templates.

Cross-channel content benefits

The ModCon 2.0 approach delivers significant advantages:

  • Increased efficiency: Build content once, deploy across several content item types.

  • Consistency: Ensure brand and messaging consistency across templates.

  • Flexibility: Customize reused modules to fit specific template needs.

  • Scalability: Build a growing library of reusable content blocks.

  • Collaboration: Share modules across teams and projects.

The cross-channel content approach represents a powerful shift toward modular, reusable content architecture that adapts to modern pharmaceutical marketing needs.
